About project

The project Young4Climate benefits from a 373 603 € grant from Norway through the Norway Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of 56 040.45 €. The aim of the project is to improve the level of awareness about climate adaptation and mitigation with series of innovative awareness raising activities, targeting mainly the pupils of 62 secondary schools in Košice Region, helping them to understand the climate agenda and to prepare to fight the climate crisis.

Project also targets broader public centered around secondary schools, like teachers, schools´ staff, family, relatives and friends. Project activities will focus on environmental literacy, ways of solving environmental issues, understanding own responsibility, assessing and communicating the current state of environment.

#1 Serious game and social media campaigns

This activity is dedicated to the preparation and implementation of 7 attractive and evidence-based campaigns that will be communicated through multiple interlinked channels - in particular by an educational game and supporting campaigns on the most used social networks.

#2 Inter-school voting contest

The second phase of the project competition will be organised as thematic campaigns towards the general public on selected social networks, which will be accompanied by 2 voting competitions for the general public among the participating secondary schools in the jurisdiction of the Košice Self-Governing Region (which have qualified according to the competition rules).

#3 Demonstration measures and educational spaces

This activity consists in the concrete implementation/construction of 16 demonstration and educational climate measures in the premises of the winning secondary schools and in equipping the demonstration sites with educational equipment, thus making these sites live educational spaces for the pupils of the winning school, as well as for other visiting schools.

#4 Project publicity

Within the framework of this activity, a web-based dissemination/communication platform will be active throughout the duration of the project, describing the project and its activities, but also functioning as a multi-purpose platform- as an entry point to the educational game, as an access to all the knowledge generated and as educational space for the demonstration sites implemented during the project implementation (linking to the QR codes on the demonstration sites).
